The A-Team’s Crack Commandos: Then, Now, And Some Amazing Facts
The A-Team was a hit television series based around a 1972 commando unit that is sent to prison for a crime they didn’t commit. The men soon escaped from a maximum-security prison in the hopes of proving their innocence while helping people who have nowhere else to turn.
The team was lead by John Hannibal Smith (George Peppard), a master of disguise and the team’s idea-man. Perhaps the most famous of the show’s characters was Bosco Albert “B. A.” (Bad Attitude) Baracus — a hot shot mechanic with a major attitude. B.A. was played by Mr. T.
Face (Dirk Benedict) is the lady’s man and actor who creates the front for the team’s various adventures.
Rounding out the team is Howling Mad’ Murdock (Dwight Schultz), an expert pilot and a loose cannon who often needs to be reigned in by his fellow A-Team members.
The show aired more than 30 years ago — but continues to be an integral part of the pop culture landscape.
We’ve broken down “The A-Team” by examining the characters each actor played, exploring where the actors are now, and providing you with some fun facts you might not know about the popular 1980s show.
Mr. T (Then)
Sgt. Bosco Albert B.A. “Bad Attitude” Baracus was known for his quippy one-liners and chunky gold bling.
He was the A-Team’s big man and he wasn’t afraid to use his strength to hurl enemies into the air and break down doors.
B.A. was also the team’s mechanic, an important job given that their iconic black van needed frequent repairs. Give him a few tools and B.A. could engineer anything.
